| Use (2.1) استعمال | NB. If after his decision the speaker mentions the action again, he will use be going to or the present continuous |

For example, imagine that to (i) above a friend, Adil, joins Ousama before his drink has arrived: ADIL: What are you having/going to have? OUSAMA: I'm having/going to have a cup of tea. Similarly, at a later time, in: (j) Mary might say: Ahmed is driving me /going to drive me to the airport tonight. . (k) Hind, however, could only say: I'm going to answer these letters tonight. (She hasn't made an arrangement with anybody.) |
